Mithril MB279 - Lord of the Nazgul Mithril MB279 - Lord of the Nazgul MB279 - Lord of the Nazgul
This figurine (MB 279) is of The Lord of the Nazgul, otherwise known as The Witch-King of Angmar. Originally a member of a group of men called the Black Numenoreans, in the Second Age he came to Middle-Earth and established himself as a King. Sauron, perceiving the power of these Numenoreans, sought to control them. It was for this reason that this Black Numenorean was offered a ring by Sauron. Once enslaved, the Witch-King presided over the development of Angmar for use as a stronghold of Sauron. This Lord of the Nazgul also played a pivotal role in the destruction of the Northern Kingdom of Arthedain (Weathertop is a remnant of this Kingdom), leaving the Dunedain to wander Middle-Earth.

Mithril MB300 - The Balrog of Moria MB300 - The Balrog of Moria
110mm Long by 90mm high when assembled
This miniature of The Balrog of Moria (the only size you would wish to come upon him) is Mithril #MB300. Once a fairly numerous demon on the face of Middle-Earth in the First Age, the Balrogs were originally summoned by Morgoth the Enemy to serve in his plans for dominion. When Thangorodrim was broken, and Morgoth cast into the void, this particular Balrog fled to the roots of the mountains under The Mines of Moria seeking perpetual darkness. The bane of the dwarves in Moria, this Balrog was finally brought down in the Third Age by Gandalf in the confrontation on the Bridge of Khazad-Dum.

Mithril MB345 - Smaug Mithril MB345 - Smaug MB345 - Smaug
Wing span = 210mm Height = 220mm
Part of the "Dragons of Middle-Earth Series"
Smaug the magnificent you should call him, for he is a vain dragon. It was the Dwarves of Erebor in the Lonely Mountain that came to an unfortunate demise as a result of Smaugs greed. Having destroyed the dwarves of the Lonely Mountain and the men of Dale (Lake-town), Smaug presided over his treasure for centuries. Having grown complacent in his vanity, Smaug did not think much of the tapping he heard one night on the secret entrance to his mountain. He could not have guess that his end was at hand. It was Bard of Esgaroth, who with a bowshot, brought Smaug down to watery grave at the bottom of Long Lake. The carcass is still there today...tours start at 11:00.

Mithril MB358 - Scatha the Worm MB358 - Scatha the Worm
150mm Long by 155mm high when assembled
Part of the "Dragons of Middle-Earth Series"
Having descended upon the dwarves this Dragon of the North was in possession of great wealth. He was killed by Fram of the Eotheod. (See Fram; MX 421)

Mithril MB369 - The Fire Dragon MB369 - The Fire Dragon
22.5cm long and 8cm high
Part of the "Dragons of Middle-Earth Series"
MB 369 is a fire-breathing Dragons of the North. While there were many types of dragons to come out of the North. The dragons capable of breathing fire were particularly dangerous. Considered far more cunning and of higher lineage, than the cold-drakes, this breed wrought much havoc on Middle-Earth. One of the more infamous dragons of this type was Smaug the Magnificent.

Mithril MB386 - Shelob MB386 - Shelob

Mithril MB396 - Shelobs Lair Mithril MB396 - Shelobs Lair MB396 - Shelob's Lair
Boxed Set
This set of figurines, which includes both Frodo Baggins and Shelob (MB 396), is taken from the pivotal journey into Mordor through the Pass of Cirith Ungol. The Frodo Baggins figure is depicted holding aloft the Phial of Galadriel in an attempt to ward off the great spider. Daughter of Ungoliant, Shelob lies in waiting within her lair for the occasional unwary, or sacrificial, Orc that may find itself inside.

Mithril MB397 - Cold-Drake of Withered Heath Mithril MB397 - Cold-Drake of Withered Heath MB397 - Cold-Drake of the Withered Heath
Part of the "Dragons of Middle-Earth Series"
Cold-Drake is not the name of this, or any, specific dragon. The term Cold-Drake is a reference to some of the Dragons of the North who are without the ability to produce flame (thus "cold"). These Dragons of the North reeked much havoc upon the Dwarves of Middle-Earth.

Size of base = 60mm by 45mm. The wall behind the figures is 53mm high
Lord of the Rings Vignettes Series 1
MV 360 is from a scene within the walls of Orthanc. In an effort to seek counsel from the head of his order, Gandalf has arrived in Isengard only to be confronted by the treachery of Saruman. Saruman, having been manipulated by Sauron through the Palantir, reveals his plans to join with Sauron. Saruman the White is now Saruman of many colors. It is after this meeting that Gandalf is confined above Orthanc. Gwaihir the Windlord will once again save the wizard.

Mithril MV361 - Stormcrow MV361 - Stormcrow
Lord of the Rings Vignettes Series 1
In this scene from The Two Towers, Gandalf, Legolas, and Gimli have arrived at Meduseld in Rohan to see King Theoden. This vignette (MV 361) shows Gandalf standing before Theoden and Wormtongue. As part of Wormtongue's manipulation of the King, he is to downplay whatever news comes to the King about the state of affairs within Rohan. Aware that Gandalf rarely arrives only to break bread, Wormtongue brands the wizard "Lathspell" and "Stormcrow" in an effort to diminish the ill news Gandalf is sure to bear..

Mithril MV362 - Bilbo surrenders One Ring MV362 - Bilbo surrenders the One Ring
Lord of the Rings Vignettes Series 1
This figurine depicts a scene from the early chapters of Fellowship of the Ring. Having made his plans to depart the Shire, and the celebration under the Party Tree having concluded, Bilbo Baggins is giving up the One Ring to Frodo. Gandalf is there, in Bag End, to assist Bilbo in this task.

Mithril MV373 - Gildor Inglorion MV373 - Gildor Inglorion
Lord of the Rings Vignettes Series 2
Gildor Inglorion is a direct descendant of the only line of High Elves to possess Golden Hair. Occasional resident of Rivendell, Gildor and his Elf kin are also regularly found in the Tower Mountains using of one of the seven Palantir. Gildor will depart Middle-Earth from the Grey Havens along with the possessors of the Three Rings of the Elves. This sculpture (MV 373) show Gildor, alongside of Elrond (presumably) in a chance meeting with the Hobbits in Rivendell.

Mithril MV374 - The Ringwraith MV374 - The Ringwraith
Lord of the Rings Vignettes Series 2
This Mithril Vignette (MV 374) beautifully depicts a scene at the Buckleberry Ferry. The Hobbits are no longer in the relative comfort of Farmer Maggots home, and have made there way to Buckleberry...with baskets of fresh mushrooms. It is here that the Hobbits once again cross paths with one of the Black Riders. Crouching behind the gates to the Ferry, they manage to escape the detection of this Ringwraith, for now.

Mithril MV375 - In House of Tom Bombadil Mithril MV375 - In House of Tom Bombadil MV375 - In the House of Tom Bombadil
$9.95 U.S.
Lord of the Rings Vignettes Series 2
This Mithril Vignette (MV 375) depicts two of the four Hobbits, who have been travelling through The Old Forest, standing in The House of Tom Bombadil. Bowing before the beautiful Goldberry is presumably Frodo Baggins. The affable Tom Bombadil stands next to them after having just saved the Hobbits from Old Man Willow. This occasion calls for a song...don't you think?

Mithril MV376 - The Barrow Tomb MV376 - The Barrow Tomb
Lord of the Rings Vignettes Series 2
Having recently left the House of Tom Bombadil, the Hobbits are in trouble. They have managed to get into a Barrow Tomb. This MV 376 vignette depicts a barrow-wight as he approaches one of the Hobbits lying entranced on a tomb. It is only the timeless Tom Bombadil that can save them from certain doom. This barrow tomb is where the Hobbits arm themselves, having found long knives that will serve as swords for them. They will carry these weapons throughout the War (Except Frodo, who is gifted Sting). It is a unforeseen stroke of luck that Merry Brandybuck should get his ancient sword from here.

The Olog-Hai trolls first appeared in Middle-earth towards the end of the Third Age. They were Mordor trolls bred by Sauron specifically to be more intelligent and capable of enduring sunlight. First mentions of the Olog-Hai are in reference to Southern Mirkwood, which leads to thoughts of Dol Guldur, and the north edge of Mordor.

He was later part of the force that travelled to the Black Gate of Mordor to defy Sauron's authority. His daughter would marry King Eomer of Rohan.

The Mithril MX 535 diorama is dedicated to the "Unexpected Party" scene from The Hobbit. Gandalf had arrived again at the cozy little Hobbit-hole of Bilbo Baggins, much to the Hobbits exasperation, he thought the wizard had perhaps forgotten him. One by one, and two by two, there were dwarves arriving on Bilbo's doorstep. Of course, the proper thing to do is let them in and serve as host. The dwarves (Fili, Kili, Oin, Gloin, Dori, Nori, Ori, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Dwalin, Balin, and Thorin Oakenshield) are making quite a mess as they consume all of Bilbo's seed-cakes and ale. Will they ever go away? What are they talking about? They want me to do what? This diorama shows the exacerbated Bilbo Baggins amongst the throng of reveling dwarves, who are carelessly carrying stacks of plates and consuming his wares. Gandalf is seated to the left talking with Thorin Oakenshield, I am sure he is quite amused.

The detail work on these lead figurines is exceptional and the paints are sold separately. Painting guidance is available on their website.
