Shown Left: Battle at Khazad-Dum
Royal Selangor
Limited Edition: 500
Item #: 277437
2012
$1619 US
31cm W x 27cm H
Capturing a scene that was well known to many even before the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy. The Balrog of Morgoth towers over the deceptively frail appearing Gandalf the Grey, wielding a sword and a whip of fire, assured that having survived the breaking of Thangorodrim, it will survive Gandalf. Gandalf stands firm on the Bridge of Khazad-Dum, brandishing his staff, and his sword Glamdring, in defiance of the Balrog. The actual Bridge of Khazad-Dum forms the base of the sculpture and is cleverly crafted to portray its slender structure as described in the book.

Officially licensed by Tolkien Enterprises, this range immortalizes Gandalf, Galadriel and other key characters in weird and wonderful sculptures of fine pewter. Bringing the characters of Lord of The Rings to life in pewter is Royal Selangor and Dr. Graeme Anthony from Australia, whose designs and detailed sculptures vividly portray each unique character or setting. As of right now, the Lord of The Rings range of collectibles remains Royal Selangors largest product line consisting of more than eighty items.

Shown Left: Bilbo & The Three Trolls
Royal Selangor
Limited Edition: 500
Item #: 277441
2012
$740 US
Height: 20 Centimeters
The confused and befuddled Bilbo Baggins is sent ahead by Thorin Oakenshield and his band of dwarves to investigate fire light in a cluster of trees. There Bilbo discovers three trolls roasting mutton on a large fire. In a bungled burglary attempt, Bilbo is apprehended by one of the trolls, William. William and his two troll comrades, Bert and Tom, quickly move out of the firelight and successfully capture all the dwarves as they come to Bilbo's rescue. With all thirteen dwarves tied up securely in foul-smelling sacks, the trolls set about deciding whether to boil, roast or mince their latest meal. Just when things are looking decidedly fatal for the band of sacked dwarves, Gandalf returns and saves them with some clever ventriloquism. Pretending to be one of the trolls, Gandalf causes them to bicker amongst themselves, making them forget about the coming dawn. Sunrise transforms the trolls to stone, William frozen while stooping over the sacks and Bert and Tom stuck in mid argument. The dwarves are freed by Gandalf and Bilbo Baggins, and the journey to the Lonely Mountain resumes. Royal Selangor has masterfully recreated in cast pewter, the three petrified trolls from Tolkien's The Hobbit.

Smaug's Destruction of Lake-town
Royal Selangor
Limited Edition: 500
Item #: 92Z114640
2012
$2285 US
Height: 26.5 Centimeters
Adapted from The Hobbit, Smaug's destruction of Lake-town has been recreated by Royal Selangor in a finely detailed sculpture. This beautiful filled sterling silver sculpture is available worldwide. Long ago, when the dwarves came to inhabit the Lonely Mountain, they mined, tunneled, discovered gold and jewels, and made treasures of many wonders. The greastest of which was the Arkenstone. But this vast hoarde of wealth attracted the attention of the dragons of the North. And so it was that Smaug the Golden came to destroy them all, dwarves and men alike, claiming their immense treasures as his own. For two centuries Smaug the Terrible lay in the heart of the Lonely Mountain guarding his ill-gotten loot, where Thor, Dwarf King under the mountain once ruled. It was Thrain, son of Thror, discovered in the dunguens of Dol Guldur by Gandalf, that gave the wizard a map and a key. This map and key would be given to Thorin Oakenshield by Gandalf and an adventure was begun. Having finally made it insidethe Lonely Mountains, Bilbo Baggins is urged on by the dwarves to make use of his talents and burgle something. Bilbo will stealthily make his way down the tunnels of the Lonely Mountain and steal a great cup from the hoarde of Samaug. But by stealing a cup, hired thief Bilbo Baggins incurs the wrath of Smaug and thus brings about the destruction of Lake-town. Called Esgaroth in the days of old, Lake-town was a town where, long after the ruination of Dale, men continue to dwell in the shadows of Smaug's mountain. It was built on the surface at the center of the Long Lake, on the edge of the perilous forest of Mirkwood, to keep enemies at bay. But nothing could hinder an enemy like Smaug the Golden.
