Note on Using this site

About Series: From years 2001 - 2005 Toy Biz introduced these actions figures much to the delight of fans and collectors alike. Thanks to use of laser-scanning technology, each sculpt was developed as a scaled replica of their movie star inspirations. When combined with intricate sculpting, these collectibles have flawlessly captured likenesses of the actors that played them, their costumes and weapons. Most are capable of full articulation, are very poseable, and vary from 4 to 14 inches in size. Released over time in six separate series, with different packaging for each, there are many version of most characters to collect. While descriptions often declared "Four assortments are planned for each movie in this historic trilogy, for a total of 12", I have seen no evidence of this.

	Pictured Left: FOTR - 12" Deluxe Gandalf 2001 Box Dimensions: 6.4" x 13.4" x 3.4" ; 1.45 lbs. This Gandalf has it all--looks, nice clothing, great accessories, and fantastic articulation, which allows for a wide range of movement. A multi-jointed upper body allows Gandalf to bend and twist comfortably, but little movement in legs means standing poses are not as easy to accomplish. Details are superb on the wizard's flowing, gauzy tunic, boots, and underclothing. "Real" rooted hair (which is rather unmanageable out of box but relaxes over time) and a beard to enhance fine facial definition. Gandalf's staff and sword fit comfortably in his hands, but his cap lacks elastic so it only sits on top of his head rather than fitting snuggly. Gandalf the Grey, a charismatic, witty, and mysterious wizard, uses all of his powers to help Frodo Baggins cross Middle-earth in order to destroy Sauron's One Ring. Though thought lost by all in his cataclysmic duel with a great Balrog of Morgoth in the Mines of Moria, Gandalf did not indeed pass permanently out of Middle-earth. Returning beyond hope from fire and death to muster all forces of light, Gandalf shed his grey mantle and took up title of Gandalf the White. A power that had lain veiled beneath his old grey visage now shone undiluted in his eyes. Gandalf the White is more powerful than ever.
